Amber Heard may owe millions of dollars in damages to her ex-husband Johnny Depp, but the actress apparently still has room in her budget for retail therapy. The Aquaman star was recently filmed shopping alongside her sister Whitney Henriquez.

TMZ published footage of the sisters shopping at a TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, New York on Thursday afternoon. Amber and Whitney were sharing a shopping cart piled high with clothes.

Amber can be seen looking through racks of clothing and specifically contemplating a pair of white linen pants. When she noticed she was being filmed, however, the actress made a dash for it.

The timing of Amber’s public shopping trip is interesting given that her legal team recently stated she can’t afford the $10.3 million she’s been ordered to pay to her ex following their defamation trial. They’ve also vowed to appeal the verdict.

Johnny originally sued Amber following her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post in which she described surviving domestic abuse.

After a weeks-long jury trial, Johnny was awarded Johnny $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. However, Amber will only have to pay $10.3 million due to a Virginia rule capping punitive damages.

Amber was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for her countersuit in which she claimed Johnny’s lawyer made statements defaming her.

Shortly after the verdict, Amber’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft was asked during an appearance on NBC’s TODAY whether her client could afford the damages. “Oh no, absolutely not,” the attorney replied.

“One of the first things that she said is, ‘I am so sorry to all those women out there; this is a setback for all women in and outside of the courtroom,” she added.

It’s unclear when Amber will have to pay the damages to her ex-husband. The married in 2015 only for the actress to file for divorce and request a restraining order the following year. The divorce was finalized in 2017.

Earlier this month, a GoFundMe campaign appeared claiming to raise funds to help Amber pay the million-dollar verdict.

Referring to itself as “Justice for Amber Heard,” the description explained, "The trial was a disgrace. I believe Amber, and social media protected the abuser. The judgment exceeds her net worth. It's so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse. If you can please help her."

However, GoFundMe ultimately removed the fundraiser after deeming it was illegitimate.
